Just four days has passed since the “tape scandal” shocked public opinion in Poland, now the new revelations are to be revealed.

Antoni Macierewicz, vice-head of Defense Ministry and liquidator of WSI informed that Military Information Services (WSI) commited illegal actions against the world of media, politics and economy. He announced to report the prosecutor’s office about that matter. There are traces of “external inspirations” in WSI, he added.

The comission, led by Macierewicz, noticed many wrongdoings. According to the commision, WSI was trying to control and manipulate the world of media and politics. Macierewicz addmitted that “more than two foreign coutries” were probably involved in inspirations of WSI’s actions, but he didn’t elaborate further. He also added that in the final report concerning liquidation of WSI are the names of people from various political parties. The more detailed report will be handed over to the President and the Prime Minister. They will decide whether to reveal the report to the public opinion.

The opposition claims that the Macierewicz’s report will be the counterattack to the “tape scandal”. Last week, television broadcast two taped conversations of members of Law and Justice party trying to win over a Self-Defence deputy by offering her a senior job. As an effect, Mr. Kaczynski, the architect of promised “moral revolution” is accused of trying to bribe politicians to support his party. The ruling Law and Justice accused opposition that it has provoked the “tape scandal” being concerned about the Macierewicz’s reports findings. The leaders of opposition parties agreed that the report should be published. Leader of Civic Platform, Jan Rokita said today in the radio programme that Macierewicz creates the atmosphere of suspicions but doesn’t say anything precisely. As a result we don’t speak about the corruption scandal but we wonder about what the report contains – he added.
